Thanks for the tip Michael. Looks like AMBEserverGPIO isn't working quite
right:

service AMBEserverGPIO status
● AMBEserverGPIO.service - LSB: Provide AMBE Encode/Decode
   Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/AMBEserverGPIO)
Active: active (exited) since Sat 2016-03-05 21:54:36 CST; 1h 26min ago

Hint: Some lines were ellipsized, use -l to show in full.

Which then lead me to:
python /srv/DV3000/AMBEtest2.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/srv/DV3000/AMBEtest2.py", line 6, in <module>
    import RPi.GPIO as GPIO
ImportError: No module named RPi.GPIO

So, I then installed:
apt-get install python-dev python-pip
pip install rpi.gpio

Reran the test, received this:
python /srv/DV3000/AMBEtest2.py

Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/serial/serialposix.py", line 460,
in read
raise SerialException('device reports readiness to read but returned no
data (device disconnected?)')
serial.serialutil.SerialException: device reports readiness to read but
returned no data (device disconnected?)

Then I found that /boot/cmdline.txt still had "console=ttyAMA0,115200" in
it, so I removed that; I also noticed that NW Digital's recommended
"init_uart_clock=50000000" addition to /boot/config.txt wasnt done either
-- fixed that and rebooted.

Once I did that, the test passed:

Ran *DMRGateway and now I'm up and running. DMRlink isn't playing quite
right, but I can at least troubleshoot that ;)*

*Thanks!*
