[Allstar Digital] Revisiting the MMDVM And Things

Hi y'all,

OK...revisiting this. 

Parts and pieces I'll need:

I have an All Star node. Well, two, actually, but one that's permanent. 

So, pretend I'm 8 years old. Well OK, 8 year olds are smarter. 

I need an MMDVM with the Arduino kit, correct? This plugs into a computer (Pi or other) ia USB? And then what? Currently I have a modified USB fob with All Star. 

Do we do DSTAR, or just DMR? Or can we transcode? Does the mmdvm replace the USB fob? Or should i build up something entirely new on a different freq to play around with? I'm a little overwhelmed mostly because I'm not sure where to start reading. Sadly, diagrams won't help. ...
