[App_rpt] Getting app_rpt base node to work.

How are you dialing the base in your dialplan?

I use a star code (*255) In my dialplan, it looks like this:

exten => *255,1,rpt(9999|D)

Which means jump on repeater 9999 in dumb-mode which will drop me right on the air.

If you wanted to pretend you are a paging system using two-tone paging, you could do something like
this:

First, record the tones with a tone generator into a file such as
/var/lib/asterisk/sounds/2_tone_216.wav

Then, in the context you phone uses, add something like this:

exten => 390,1,dial(local/*255 at starcodes||A(/var/lib/asterisk/sounds/2_tone_216))

Which means, when you dial 390, it will look for *255 in the "starcodes" context, call it and wait
for it to answer, then play the file /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/2_tone_216.wav to the called party
(in this case the remote base)

Once the file has played, you'll no longer hear ringing and be connected.
