Message-ID: Hi I am new to this List. and to App-Rpt! I have been reading thru the post archive and reading the documentation. (I know. I am supposed to be a HAM what do I need Docs for!!) Well I am finding all this stuff interesting. so much so I am getting the materials together for my own system. I am thinking a ham remote base and a repeater later! I noticed (while reading the Docs) there is a digium board that is giving a problem. I have just purchased a ZapMicro board with 4 FXS's TDM400P Quad FXS 4 TDM04B. Did I make a mistake or will this card work? Also I was wonderin' how much it would cost a HAM to purchase one of those Quad Radio Boards. And I will be ordering a couple of the ARIB boards soon. The only thing that worries me. Is getting all this stuff into the Shack without my Wife seeing it!! Best '73 Roger W4RFJ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The Digium TDM400 boards don't like to have talk battery enabled and disabled repeatedly. We use talk battery eanble/disable to key and unkey the transmitter. Sometimes the enable/disable transients cause the board to reset, then the driver gets confused. Later revisions of the Digium boards may work better than earlier revisions. I visited the Zapmicro site. They say it is TDM400 compatible. We've never tried one of the Zapmicro cards though. The Quad Radio PCI card is the preferred way to go as the interface is direct from the Card to the radio. > > > > Also I was wonderin' how much it would cost a HAM to purchase one of those > Quad Radio Boards. Interesting about the Talk Battery Issue... I will give the Zapmicro Board a try! We'll see what gives! If not I will have to save up my allowance to get the Quad Radio Board!! Heheh Also... I was wondering if the IAXRPT software could be used to access other systems other than my own? I signed up for an allstar number... I guess I will wait for the info I get from that! Thanks For the Super Quick Response!
