This arrangement works fine. One thing that I have noticed is that I can not seem to get an alphabetical caller ID (e.g., the repeater callsign to display. This is what I have in my simple dialplan: exten => 100,1,Set(CALLERID(all)= "VA3PMO" <123-123-123>) I've tried with quotes, without quotes, putting the entire thing in between the '< >' brackets and so on. Looking forward to your fix! Cheers, Ramesh. I have set the IRLP audio levels to achieve the recommended 3.5kHz deviation on Dave C's test tone. IRLP audio therefore sounds quite good. However, audio from app_rpt is not so good. I sent the test tone from app_rpt and the tone resulted in 2kHz of deviation on the transmitter. Hence, I'm wondering whether it's possible to add a similar 'rtprxgain' and 'rtptxgain' variable to app_rpt to allow gain adjustment between app_rpt and irlp when using rtpDir? Thanks! Ramesh. I know you're in a very different time zone, so I'll let you choose the time, if indeed Sunday is a good day for you. If that's not a good day for you Jim, let me know when would be good and I'll arrange to be on site with the node ( its node 2237 ). I'm fairly free this weekend as the rest of the family are off on a camping trip, so I know its gonna rain :-) I have a good service monitor available to use, if that will help. Our club repeater is connected to Echolink so I was thinking about creating a Echolink node on my server that users could link to then I would allow an outbound call. On the reverse I would like to provide a repeater dial-in number that would route through my Asterisk server to our club's node via Echolink. Keeping in mind at no time does my Asterisk server actually communicates with a radio directly it is just acting as a Echolink gateway. I have been experimenting with ACID but it appears the radio/usb driver is preventing Asterisk from loading without a actual usb radio connected. If I noload=chan_usbradio in the modules.conf file then Asterisk appears to load but I am still having problems with refrence to it in my rpt.config file. I have been able to configure a Echolink connection but I cant send audio to the connected node when the remote station connects but the Asterisk debug indicates it is. The old CD's used to have a different install method where you logged into the node half way through the install but that is different now with the new CDs. With the new CD, you are asked to specify the root password during the installation. Good luck Jose - sorry I didnt get any further with your node a week or so ago - I had a serious car crash and have had rather a lot to occupy my mind because of that! If it is asking you for a password then this means the installation has failed. So I thought I'd learn a bit about Asterisk before jumping into app_rpt. I got my Asterisk system installed (from source) on CentOS 5.3 this weekend with the help of the O'Reilly Asterisk book and the documentation for the TDM410. I have a small dial plan working with the TDM410 and two FXS and two FXO ports. "ComedianMail" is working too. Pretty cool stuff! So my question is this. Is it recommended to install the ACID CD and wipe out my hard work, or can I use my existing installation for app_rpt? And would the folks here on the list mind if I ask questions pertaining to installing in this environment? Getting patches submitted and approved by Digium developers takes a long time these days, and frankly we have to focus our efforts on app_rpt and the channel drivers and not get too caught up with Asterisk. If you are used to compiling from sources, you could download our asterisk version with all of the required fixes (i.e. the files.tar.gz file). and unpack it in /usr/src, then look at the phase1.sh and phase2.sh scripts for ideas on what dependencies are required. He has 2 nodes that are simplex and have Chan_IRLP anf Chan_Echolink. The problem he has is the nodes seem to work fine for a few weeks then, for some reason the Zaptel directory seems to disappear from these nodes. Now Asterisk goes nuts because it cant find the Zaptel drivers. I have not seen this on any of then nodes I have so I'm at a loss as to what is going one here. He is using the normal ACID distro and nothing different. This is the 3rd time it has happen on one node and has happened on the other once. Each time he has done a complete reinstall to fix it but it still seems to occur. Any ideas on what may be wrong?? Which directory is getting deleted? 2. Has the user been updating the Centos 5.3 code? If a new kernel is being installed during an update process, then zaptel won't work after the system is rebooted, because the older drivers won't load with the newer kernel. VOIP connections are radio connections are treated differently in app_rpt and echolink connections and they cannot be manipulated using extension logic. All incoming echolink connections go directly to the echolink channel driver. The app_rpt code does not support greeting incoming connections (echolink, irlp, or allstar) with a password on standard nodes. Echolink connections are inherently half duplex, and useless for carrying an autopatch call. The radio connection would have to be IAX2/allstar to support a remote autopatch, and if this is the case, then you'd have to have asterisk installed at the repeater and replace the echolink software. (Probably what you are trying to avoid). Further, after posting my note this morning, I went into the rpt.conf file on 2200 and added 2461 to the list of nodes that are allowed to connect - i.e., a manual entry at the bottom of the file, and used the FQDN for 2461 (not the IP addr), and after that I was able to successfully connect 2461 to 2200. So I don't think it is a DNS issue... esp., since Jon (RQ) is seeing this issue independently on a couple of his nodes. Cheers, Ramesh. This little script file can be used to see what nodes servers are up and running: #! /bin/sh TOPDOMAIN=allstarlink.org WGET=`which wget` $WGET -O - http://$1.$TOPDOMAIN/cgi-bin/nodes.pl Pass to it an argument for the specific nodes server you wish to test (i.e. nodes1, nodes2). For all acid users, I recommend they edit the rc.updatenodeslist and make sure nodes2.allstarlink.org is specified in addition to nodes1.allstarlink.org like this: SUBDOMAINS="nodes1 nodes2" ACID gets rc.updatenodelist from files.tar.gz in the allstar directory, and copies it to /etc/rc.d/rc.updatenodelist during installation. This is a different file than what limey linux uses. I since updated the file in SVN to include nodes2, but all the existing systems will not see this update as the script is already installed. All the duplex setting in usbradio.conf does is allow the cpu time to be reduced when a system is set up for half-duplex in app_rpt. Setting duplex=1 in usbradio.conf and setting duplex=0 in app_rpt should still result in half-duplex operation. It really sounds like recording with any mode is broken, but I'd try duplex=2 in rpt.conf and duplex=1 in usbradio.conf and see what results there. If it is broken everywhere vs. just with a few configurations is very useful to know. Either way, once you have determined that where it works and doesn't work its probably time to log the bug in Mantis with all of the findings. BTW: Always bottom post on the mailing list. I was able to make a horrible kludge to get it up temporarily while I find new hoster for it that DOES NOT USE CPANEL or anything like it!!! This makes about the 4th time Ive had to spend hours coding around one of their "security patches". So, for the time being, the rpt_extnodes file should be okay, but watch out, with the way its working now, there is a tiny, i mean really tiny chance that the file that it downloads to you may be truncated (not completely internally populated yet). I have no control over this as it stands. Thank you Cpanel, for ruining another day of my life!!!! P.S. for those of you who have never had the "honor" of using Cpanel, or even knowing what it is, its a front-end that hosting services generally use for "hand-holding" their hosting users. Its a graphical do-it-yourself admin interface. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I assumed the the Echolink driver used some type of vox to convert it to a by-directional circuit using the magic inside app_rpt. N0PCO, you gave me a couple of options to think over and in typical HAM fashion it looks like I am going to need some duct tape and baling twine... I like it !! ;-) Do either of you know if the dtpDir soluton will work in the same manner? Randomly, the audio from my main node (connected to the analog controller) disappears... i.e., app_rpt does not 'hear' the audio from the repeater, it *does* see the COS signal, so the result is an unmodulated carrier out to the connected links. Interestingly, the audio from the remote base works fine - i.e., if I hop over to the RB, I can carry on the conversation with folks connected to the main repeater node. An rpt reload does not fix this. When I restart the Asterisk service, then things are fine and again will run for a random period of time (could be one day, or sometimes 3 or 4 days) until the next hit. I've tried disconnecting the RB node, so that it is not connected to the main node at all, and this does not seem to make a difference. This morning, I have commented out the RB stanza in rpt.conf and its associated stanza in usbradio.conf - will be interesting to see if this re-occurs with just the one node connected. ... wonder if anyone else has seen this, and if so, what the fix was / is? Your IAX file is most likely ok. In you rpt conf file you need to have the reporting lines in each node stanza. eg: [first node] (node 1 config stuff) Add the stat post lines as per normal: statpost_program=/usr/bin/wget,-q,--timeout=15,--tries=1,--output- document=/dev/null ; get Allstar updates for node look up statpost_url=http://stats.allstarlink.org/uhandler.php ; Report this node to Allstar stats page And at the end of the second node just add this line: [second node] (node 2 config stuff) statpost_url=http://stats.allstarlink.org/uhandler.php ; Report this node to Allstar stats page Note that the line for getting node updates must not be here. In the 'off' state, the local transmitter does not transmit. The intent is to switch to the off state after a period of local transmitter inactivity, terminating any active links at that time. Switching back to the on state would require either a local DTMF code or receipt of an incoming link connection. Several approaches were tried to achieve this. At first it was hoped the controlstates rptena/rptdis would work, but examining app_rpt.c (V0.199), it appears rptdis is a synonym for the system disable cop command 3 (both set txdisable = 1)(while rptena appears to be slightly different than the system enable cop command 2). Further, txdisable = 1 prevents incoming link connections, thus preventing new link connections changing the state from off to on. There doesn?t appear to be an activity timer for the local transmitter, but the link activity timer does provide a usable timer function, so long as this node always establishes a link when switching to the on state. Any suggestions or help much appreciated. I used to be able to play it and set decode properly on the radios. I was trying to get the attention of one of my users who has an mdc radio. At some point one of the updates seems to have started filtering playback of tones. Same thing when someone keys up, the mdc tones don't pass through the system. Is there any way to turn off or adjust the filtering so they will pass again? We are in a feature freeze at the moment as we are getting ready to release new versions of ACID and limey linux. The request is trivial to implement.
