Sorry, I responded to Don's email yesterday but accidentally replied to only him and not the list.

In case anyone else has this problem you need to recompile your linux kernel with the option of having the timer freq set at 1 kHz, which is what zaptel needs and is expecting. Some distros come set at 1 kHz default (centos), but others (ie debian and gentoo) come with a different default setting.

To change this, when you're recompiling, in the make menuconfig utility look under processor type and features and change timer frequency to 1000.
