I corrected the entry as per Jim's instructions and re-started asterisk, but

This is an attempt to connect to our hub node from a PC which is behind the
same router/firewall as our node 2481 (in case that has any bearing on
things).
The "reg.allstarlink.org" only occurred once in extensions.conf.
BTW, Jim - Great to have you back amongst us. I hope that you're on the up
and up :-)

I have been getting reports of an issue with an error having to do with
not being able to allocate a curl structure. I just discovered that this
happens
if you dont update your extensions.conf file. Change any reference to
'reg.allstarlink.org'
to 'register.allstarlink.org'.

Under what circumstances would this entry exist in, or be added to,
extensions.conf?
Checked mine and no entry.
