I'd just like to turn off connection messages for all nodes except my own node. I want to hear other local telemetry announcements. Right now, I have everything turned on becacause when I am connected to a busy node, the connect/disconnect messages overpower any QSO in progress. But, that also leaves me without *80 and other local announcements I need to hear. :( :( 8-Dale -- PickleJar Software | Home of the Pico Node! Open your mind, Read, Learn, Think, Apply, and Have Fun! This version adds a new remote shell script execution feature allowing you to remotely execute any non-interactive shell script on your AllStar system with a single click. The shell script output is displayed in a command monitor window. The new feature includes a simple shell script editor that allows you to create, name, view, edit, and delete custom scripts from within NodeShark. You can create as many scripts as you like and they are added to a convenient drop-down list for single click execution. You can also import shell scripts created outside of NodeShark using other editors. Finally, v0.95 is the result of extensive code cleanup and highly improved error checking. I have also updated the NodeShark User Guide to reflect the new features. You can download this latest version and the user guide at http://www.arizuni.com/NodeShark Currently, NodeShark directly supports multi-node to only a single AllStar system. The final feature I'll be adding prior to 1.0 is AllStar multi-site support (i.e multiple selectable configurations). 73's, Keith KF7DRV AllStar: 2541 Echolink: 477448 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: <006001cb95a0$fb2b8370$9a14a8c0@lintv.com> Hey, all. I had my gear off for many months, and just decided to get it all going again, downloaded latest sources, compiled, at app_rpt 0.273 now I'm impressed. Config access from the web site is interesting, though can't seem to make web transceiver work (yet) I have a few questions I'll post separately. But for now just wanted to say "good job"!! (IRPL can go hide their heads) My 2428 remote isn't really there...well, the USB fob is, but that's all. I need to re-do all my custom commands, but clearly separating thyat stuff in the rpt.conf file makes it easier to keep neat. Appreciate the response. Each TLB instance only has ONE Asterisk connection - it just happens that I have two Asterisk nodes on the same server (for now). It seems like Asterisk is losing its (or doesn't have an) association between which TLB stream (they are on different port pairs) is associated with which Asterisk node. Traffic from either/both Asterisk nodes gets sent out to ALL TLB streams... even though it's spec'd which node to associate with - almost feels like it's not being checked going from Asterisk out and over to TLB... - Jeremy, KD0EAV On 12/7/10 4:11 PM, Jim Duuuude wrote: > [In Yoda voice... mmmmm, very peculiar configuration, this is] > > I believe the issue is with TLB. Am I over-thinking this? I have a private Trixbox PBX with a few SIP extensions set up. I want to be able to dial from one of the extensions and connect to one of my app_rpt nodes direct. I also want to be able to connect to an extension on my pbx from my radio. They are on separate boxes, right now on the same network and different ports (pbx 4569, app_rpt 4568) Is this do-able? Works well. asterisk at home festival weather configuration MP3 Audio directly from NOAA! Updated URLs on 12-15-06 If you are in the San Diego NOAA Office area (and maybe others, check your regional NOAA Office homepage from http://weather.gov/), you can get an audio file of the current forecast for your zone and play it directly. For the San Diego NOAA Office area, go to http://newweb.wrh.noaa.gov/sgx/and click on the Audio selection under Forecasts. Get the URL of the audio file for your zone from the map. Create an announcement in wav format from: http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php I like the UK-Audrey voice, but try some others too. Make something like: latest-forecast.wav "Please wait while I download the latest forecast" select-weatherorvmc.wav "Press 1 for voicemail press 2 for the latest weather forecast" You will have to convert the wav files from 16000Hz to 8000Hz and maybe speed them up a bit (135%) and reduce the volume (60%) before you use them. Put them in /var/lib/asterisk/sounds named latest-forecast.wav and select-weatherorvmc.wav Add something like this to your extensions.conf (maybe in the ranssection) to get the latest forecast when you dial whatever extension (like 865) that you choose. My extensions.conf for audio weather: exten => 865,1,Answer exten => 865,2,Playback(latest-forecast) exten => 865,3,System(/usr/bin/curl -s http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/sgx/data/audio/LAXSAFC42.mp3 > /tmp/LAXSAFC42.mp3) exten => 865,4,Wait(1) exten => 865,5,MP3Player(/tmp/LAXSAFC42.mp3) exten => 865,6,System(rm /tmp/LAXSAFC42.mp3 -f) exten => 865,7,Hangup If you have trouble, make sure you have curl installed, change the path above if necessary. find / -type f -name "curl" will find your curl executable. I'm using MP3Player instead of Playback because I don't have a sound card in the Asterisk box so mpg123 fails when it tries to use /dev/dsp. I suppose there is a way to have a dummy dev, but I don't know how. If you do use Playback instead of MP3Player, don't use the .mp3 file extension in your extensions.conf. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/asterisk+at+home+festival+weather+configuration David On Thu, Dec 9, 2010 at 8:27 PM, Dwaine Garden wrote: > I would be interested in that. > > Dwaine > > > "KB3ORS - Brian" wrote: > > >I know there is weather scripts for irlp. These private nodes are half-duplex or simplex links (duplex=1 in rpt.conf) - they are connected to transceivers (and use DSP squelch/ctcss just like the main node). Everything is connected together by gigabit Ethernet behind a common router. When I key up the "public" node, the other linked nodes start transmitting in a fraction of a second. But, when I transmit into one of the "private" nodes, from a cold start, it takes 3+ seconds before the main node starts transmitting. Other than the very first fraction of a second, no audio is lost - it is just delayed. Once things are going, the time delay largely disappears (i.e., private nodes are now keying up during the hang-time of the public node). What is causing the long startup time? I can key up, say my callsign and go back to receive, before the public node has even started to transmit. At the moment, the nodes are running versions 267 and 266. Each of the [nodes] stanzas include the local IP addresses of the "other" nodes in addition to its own. If it makes any difference - the connections were made *from* the public node *to* the private node. As someone else pointed out, that means running the test tone so it gives 1.5 kHz deviation in RADIO TUNE TXVOICE (giving you 2.5 kHz at full blast). The -6dB guideline is just to allow some "headroom". If you have two sources with 0.5 (relative voltage) level, the waveform at times will add up to just 1.0 voltage level and you will stay clear of the limiter. If you have more signals, or higher levels, then you will start hitting the output limiter and things will sound compressed. Without the limiter you will get nasty distortion. Another factor (noted in the instructions) is that if you are using composite audio, the levels for tone and voice must not exceed 1000 in total - or you will get distorted audio, even *with* the limiter enabled. Having said that, the pre-recorded sounds are actually hotter than this guideline. "connected.gsm", for example, hits -3 dB in Audacity as do "version.gsm" and others. The recordings are loud and slow so that you will understand them. But many people would prefer quiet fast ones most of the time. If some person were to record and post an alternative library of the letters, numbers and a few choice words, that would be a useful resource to the user community. Try this http://webpages.charter.net/w0anm/irlp/WxScripts.html and http://webpages.charter.net/w0anm/irlp/scripts/WxScripts-0.9.4.noarch.rpm You want the getWxAlert script. It calls out to NOAA and downloads an XML file formatted in the Govt's new alerting format. If you poll it every minute you'll get an update as soon as it's posted. We have it configured on our 220 repeater such that a severe event gets play instantly and then every 10 minutes for the first hour and then 20 mins for the second hour and then 30 mins thereafter until the event is canceled. The script can be modified to collect other info too. Amber Alerts are now using this XML format as are DHS and other Govt agencies. Perhaps the iso needs to be modified to point to the proper location of the kickstart files for usb drives? I also tried booting from a USB stick. I loaded the iso with an app called "Unetbootin". It too seemed to boot ok from usb and got to the same place with the same error looking for the kickstart.cfg. Perhaps the same problem. Anybody know how to make this work? I'm looking to: 1) Setup a separate local PL / link PL scheme by using the GPIO inputs for seperate decoder logic. Only the Link PL logic would key the remote base (I'm using the OEM boards for decode). 2) Currently link audio and local repeater audio mix when received at the same time. This is by design I understand, but I want to mute the incoming remote audio when the local system is active (to prevent interrupting on ongoing local conversation while keeping the link in monitor mode). This scheme is commonly used in some large linked systems with discreet components, but I think it can be done easily in Allstar. Thanks for any suggestions! Last week my macro that plays 3 audio files numbered 3,4,5 said that it played 3, then 5, then 4 (according to the info on the CLI) Today my macro that plays audio file 1, followed by in ID (*80 command), followed by file 2, actually played to the two files end-to-end without executing the *80 command (thereby timing out the attached nodes). The purpose of the *80 is to "drop the PTT" momentarily, to reset time out timers of attached nodes and ID at the same time. When the macro actually executes the command, this works. (Version 0.267) Related question: is there some other way to reset the timeout timers of attached nodes during the execution of a macro? But look at playwx.conf and at the buttom where it plays it for IRLP you would want to change that to something like "asterisk -xr play filename". Then you might want to replay it 1-10 times so you not miss anything.. Maybe copy it to the a voicemail box so you can call it up again if you need. Ok I have thought about this a lot. Its great that you want a weather script to play the emergency alert. My thought is you are using the internet that might go down in bad weather. Why not just use a Weather Alert Radio with "SAME" and hard wire it in using a FOB. Then have asterisk on boot always connect to the node. Or better yet, get someone to write a SAME code for AllStarLink so you can use a Vhf radio. Then you can punch up a code and hear the weather report if you want. Not good. It probably would be a good idea to run a copy of the script manually with dry_run=1 and verbose=1 and try to determine why it's printing [extnodes] on your console. The [extnodes] output should be going to a the nodes list file and not the console. The machine will run 1 node (using DMK URI), which will be connected to only by iaxrpt. Its likely that the node will be simplex, although if a change to duplex would affect the answers it would be useful to know. System requirements: I read a while ago that the minimum system requirements were Pentium III 866Mhz, and 512MbRAM. I've seen references to the use of Beagle board, which until recently (if I understand correctly) wouldn't have been a comparable spec. Is the above spec a minimum, or have people found say a 600Mhz processor adequate for this level of installation? Network requirements: My use is generally temporary installs at remote locations. Broadband is often available, but for the locations where it isn't has anyone any experience of using 3G connections , or even GPRS (with an appropriate codec selected). I have experience of getting reliable 3G connections for 64k mp3 shoutcast broadcast feed streams, but not for ROIP use. I appreciate that reliability and latency will be degraded with a mobile connections. Any experience much appreciated. If I do a reverse patch things are different, I dial on the phone the node number (27473) which is answered straight away without any beeps or announcements, the node goes onto TX with my phone audio being transmitted, there is no vox operation, to stop the TX I have to dial #, I then can't get the node TX again, I have tried *98 and even changed the command against cop,6 to another number but nothing. If I dial any digit the node goes onto TX and you hear the dtmf digit transmitted then the nodes goes back to RX, if you dial *5 only the 5 is transmitted on air, the * is never transmitted (expect that is normal) I would like the setup to work the same on reverse patch as forward patch works, Many thanks for any help, Best Regards and Happy New year.
