Connect that to an GPIO input and use the Event Management System to redefine the CT tone dynamically. At least in theory that's how I would do it. Lastly, you could try what I'm doing here.. At my QTH, I operate several Allstar nodes, and my solution was to connect the Echolink node to a hub node (2210). Through experimention, I found that outbound Echolink calls seem to work fine from any node, even when the RF nodes are not connected to the hub node. I'm not sure if that feature was ever planned, but it seems to work! I normally do not connect the RF nodes to the hub node. Nodes 2210-2213 are all running on a single P3/866 MHZ PC. If I am expecting an inbound Echolink call (almost never), we can connect any or all of the RF nodes to the hub node. 73 for now. Kyle K0KN Allstar 2210-2215 --- Original Message --- Based on that info, what you could do is set up 2 Allstar nodes on one box and setup one echolink node. Connect each node to repeater. That way its the same as having 2 boxes (actually simpler) and both nodes can access the echolink. That means scp needs to send its file data to STDOUT (which would then be piped into the next program) Ken From hkwilliamson at gmail.com Sun Apr 10 04:31:03 2011 From: hkwilliamson at gmail.com (Keith Williamson) Date: Sat, 9 Apr 2011 21:31:03 -0700 Subject: [App_rpt-users] copying files between asterisk boxes under program control In-Reply-To: <003801cbf730$57e5cd00$07b16700$@com> References: <000001cbf6fd$a4771ee0$ed655ca0$@com> <000601cbf71a$972e85d0$c58b9170$@com> <201104101216.14127.a.errington@lancaster.ac.uk> <003801cbf730$57e5cd00$07b16700$@com> Message-ID: On Sat, Apr 9, 2011 at 8:35 PM, Ken wrote: > > > > > Secondly > > > > > > If possible, is there a way to direct the output of this transfer to > > > "stdin" so that it can go directly into another program? > > > > Yes, you use ssh for this (not scp). There are two sides to a ssh/scp connection..the client side and the server side. The client side is implemented with various programs such as PuTTY for Windows and ssh for Linux. There are many others. The server side on Linux is implemented using a program called (typically) sshd. The are various distributions of the server side for Linux such as OpenSSH, Dropbear, and others. When you connect from system A to system B using ssh (or scp), you are making a connection between the client program (such as ssh) on system A and the server program, sshd, on system B. It is not possible to connect ssh on system A to ssh on system B. The client side program, by necessity, allows for many different configurations that you can quickly switch between, to talk to any given remote system's server program. The server program (e.g. sshd), is configured for a single port. The server program doesn't typically have a nice user interface like the client since it is configured fairly statically and just listens for remote connection attempts on it's configured port. >From my reading of your email, it seems you are setting up the client on system A to initiate connection attempts using port 200. Then likewise, you are setting up the client on system B to initiate connection attempts using port 200. However the clients don't talk to each other..they talk to the remote systems server (sshd), which is configured differently (probably port 222). To configure the sshd server on each system, consult the manpage for sshd on that system. In terms of what you are trying to achieve, it seems you want an option within sshd that passes file streams to stdout so that you can pipe that received file stream into a second program via stdin. I've looked through OpenSSH's implementation of sshd and nothing jumped out at me that would allow you to do that. Like this: echo "some text" | ssh user at remote.host "cat > /remote/file" In this case, echo is writing to stdout. It is piped to ssh, which establishes a connection to remotehost. The other end of the pipe becomes stdout on remotehost, which connects to stdin of cat which dumps *its* stdout to a file. So, replace echo with your program on localhost which is producing data to stdout, and cat with your program on remotehost which is consuming data on stdin. Are you transferring a stream of data, or just a file? It's been I while since I had to do this, but I seem to remember it is a little counterintuitive. My program - running on local host - is consuming data, not producing data. The data is an mp3 file on remote host. (We are going to turn that into a stream, but remote host doesn't know about that). But add a Virtual Interface to your network card. "eth0:1" Your LAN can handle many different networks. If your running a Linux router you can have lots of fun running two WAN's. Or ask your ISP for a second IP address. How about using a USB CDMA card "Virgin Mobile Cheap" on the mountain top for the second computer. Then you could just route the EchoLink out the USB CDMA card and use it as a fail over route. Also, if you happen to have a NAT router that is behind more then one public IP that is capable of doing explicit public IP/port to private IP/port NAT bindings, you can have both instances on the same local IP address, but specify port= in both cases and put the second (or third or fouth, etc) on some strange port number (the port= specifys the lower number of the port number pair to be used) and then bind the other addresses to other public IP addressses on their normal public port (5198 I guess it is). In any case, each stanza would have different echolink login info, and also, have a different app/rpt node associated with it. For outbound traffic, all connections come from the Echolink node node number associated with el0. Remember, this is not archetected like a normal Echolink installation. Multiple inbound and outbound connections are supported completely and independently of each other. Message-ID: <002c01cbf7f4$b76bb040$6402a8c0@main> Hello Chuck, I have had great luck with the parallel port under app_rpt. First thing to try is: (Make sure Asterisk is controlling the parallel port!) # lsof /dev/parport0 COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME asterisk 25664 root 24u CHR 99,0 1010 /dev/parport0 Next, make sure parallel port pins 18-25 are grounded. Some ports are quite picky about this. Here is my usbradio.conf template for using an IRLP/PLRI board: [usb1234] rxchannel=usb1234 ; pp3 = ptt ; Parallel port settings pp11 = cor pp4=out0 ; in, cor or ctcss pp5=out0 ; multiple pins can be set to PTT if desired pp6=out0 ; pins 4,5,6 are AUX 1,2,3, default off ; hdwtype=0 rxboost=1 txboost=0 rxctcssrelax=1 txctcssdefault=100.0 rxctcssfreqs=100.0 txctcssfreqs=100.0 carrierfrom=ppinvert ctcssfrom=no rxdemod=speaker txprelim=no txlimonly=no txtoctype=no txmixa=voice txmixb=no invertptt=0 duplex=0 rxondelay=0 rxnoisefiltype=0 eeprom=0 Next, here's a little script to control parallel pins from a prompt: #!/bin/bash # Script to control PLRI Aux ports from prompt # by Kyle Yoksh January 2011 # # Usage: pport [node no] [parallel port pin] [logic state] # # Example, pport 2211 2 1 turns pp pin 2 on # asterisk -r -x "rpt cmd $1 cop 61,PP$2"="$3 0" One last thought, I've noticed that app_rpt will not reliably control the parallel port if you have a node configured in rpt.conf for "rxchannel=Radio/usbxxxx" without a fob present. 73 for now. Good luck. Kyle K0KN --- Original Message --- I am trying to use the parallel printer port output pins on an Intel ATOM D510MO mother board. I have included below my usbradio.conf file. For testing there is a board with LED's attached to the port and on POST it displays various patterns then nothing until fully booted when it shows only pin 4 active. I have tried this with the pport commented out and with the pbase commented out and the same result. I have tried each of the options available in the BIOS setup for the parallel port and same result. The only lines found in the log files that seem to relate to the parport are the following... First thing I did after receiving your email was ground all of the ground pins. That may have helped. I think it may have been working all along but I made an incorrect assumption. I assumed that the "pp2=out1" type lines in usbradio.conf would initialize the pins to that state as soon as asterisk was started. It does not. It just initializes how the pins will be set when the next "cop 61" is activated or a PTT event happens. I came up with a fix for this so that the initialization commands actually initialize the pins on startup. My fix may not be the right way to do this but it works for me for now. (Jim, please tell me if this is okay or if there is a better solution.) Here is a diff showing the fix. - - - - - - - - - cut here - - - - - - - - *** chan_usbradio.c-before 2011-03-13 05:58:41.000000000 -0500 --- chan_usbradio.c-after-fix 2011-04-11 03:27:37.000000000 -0500 *************** *** 5720,5725 **** --- 5720,5731 ---- if (haspp == 1) ast_verbose(VERBOSE_PREFIX_3 "Parallel port is %s\n",pport); else if (haspp == 2) ast_verbose(VERBOSE_PREFIX_3 "Parallel port is at %04x hex\n",pbase); } + //CAH modified 2011-04-11 begin + if ((hasout == 1) && (haspp > 0)) + { + ppwrite(pp_val); + } + //CAH modified 2011-04-11 end ast_config_destroy(cfg); - - - - - - - - - cut here - - - - - - - - Chuck On Sun, Apr 10, 2011 at 10:01 PM, K&R Yoksh wrote: > > Hello Chuck, > > > I have had great luck with the parallel port under app_rpt. > > First thing to try is: (Make sure Asterisk is controlling the > parallel port!) > > # lsof /dev/parport0 > COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME > asterisk 25664 root 24u CHR 99,0 1010 /dev/parport0 > > Next, make sure parallel port pins 18-25 are grounded. This allows a very small low cost system based on the BeagleBoard-xM single board computer to operate two radios either simplex or full-duplex. We are currently in production building the LOX Board. This board is designed to mount directly beneath the BeagleBoard-xM and provides a bunch of neat features including audio processing, standard controls for CTCSS, COR, PTT, general purpose I/Os and a wide input range switching regulator. For more information about the LOX Board please see the data sheet: http://www.dmkeng.com/images/LOX%20Board%20Data%20Sheet.pdf and the schematic: http://www.dmkeng.com/images/9094_revA.pdf . The LOX Board will begin shipping by April 22, 2011 and is offered at $149.95 each. For licensed amateur radio operators we are offering for a limited time a $50 discount so your price is just $99.95. You can place an order on our web site www.dmkeng.com today. Thank you to Jim and Dale for all their hard work on this project. Please contact me if you have any questions. You need to use "radio tune rxsquelch" with no signal on the machine to set it. For example: >radio tune rxsquelch Current Signal Strength is 666 Current Squelch setting is 780 You should set the squelch so that it is at least 100 points higher than the background noise level. You set it by typing a number after the command. If so you'll be using one as the receiver and one as the transmitter. Only one URI is needed and both radios will be wired to it.
