[App_rpt-users] Nasa Select via music on hold?

Easy, use the music on hold function. You'll need mpg123 installed and a feed to point to it, I do this for the music on hold on my main PBX all the time. Create or edit a file called musiconhold.conf and include the following as a sample:

[default]
mode=custom
application=/usr/bin/mpg123 -q -s --mono -r 8000 -f 8192 -b 0 http://scfire-ntc-aa05.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1074

This example is for the .977 hitz Shoutcast stream. An example dialplan config would look like this (in extensions.conf):

[my-nasa-feed-or-whatever-you-decide-to-call-it]
exten => 1000,1,MusicOnHold(default)

In a nutshell this is how you could accomplish it, hopefully I didn't miss anything so I don't make any guarantees, YMMV ;) If you can get it going let us know, I looked around to see if there was a feed being broadcast and couldn't find one but I didn't look in any great detail. You could also rename your MusicOnHold class to say, NASA and just refer to it accordingly in your dialplan.

Hope that helps.... 73

It seems there are ways to bring nasa select into allstar, one seems to be via music on hold.

Anyone have a configuration of doing this? Or specifically how to bring in the audio from the Mars landing tonight into allstar (hmm, means I need to turn off my timeout timers too.... must be a cop for that I would suppose?)
