considering the number of drive-bys on echolink, i just turned off the announcements and ignore it. as long as the don't key up, i really don't want to know.
more annoying are the folks that don't realize they have their pseudoPTT on their keyboard depressed (or the cat is sleeping on it, or...) and connect, key up all the linked systems, and wonder why they don't hear anything, and then time us all out...after throwing a dead carrier for 179 seconds.
grrrr.
