Happy Holidays Folks,

I have a project I have wanted to launch for some time, if there are those interested and capable.

Each year the Lincoln Highway association has a Yard Sale for those along the Old Historic Lincoln Highway in the month of Aug.

(For those not familiar with the Lincoln Highway, it was the first coast to coast highway and later became US Rt 30 and you will find that Interstate 80 follows the upgraded route as they shortened connectors - google it)

In any case, I always like to find reasons to test out wide linking for emergency preparedness. You don't know what kind of problems you will run into unless you try it out. And I think we all need to know what kind of problems to avoid and what we can all do to make these kinds of things work more effectively.

So with that, I thought it was a good idea to combine ham radio with the historic past and try to achieve a continuous link for at least 4-6 hours of those repeaters along the historic route during their national "yard sale".

I would expect we all should and will learn something about linking that many systems together. As I see it, it is too many for just one link-up. We might possibly need to split it at the Mississippi and have a east and west link-up.

So in short, I would like to know who might be interested in participating for that event and your location along the Lincoln Highway so we can map and list it.

I am in East Liverpool, Ohio / Former Pottery Capitol of the World / "Point of The Beginning" / Where Pretty Boy Floyd was Shot. (For those who like history, look those up). Everyone along the old highway has a rich history.

Once I have your email, I will try a separate email set-up so we don't cloud the purpose of "this email reflector".
