Many thanks for jogging my memory. Being in the old bash/vi mode I often don't think of the other options.  I think the winscp might be the best choice but I looked at nano and yes it does look like a pico clone.

Subject: [App_rpt-users] Editor Is there a neophyte editor in the acid release? This is not for me, I use Vi but I am installing systems for a couple of guys who I would not trust with Vi.  I know IRLP uses Pico on Debian and that seems like a nice simple editor. Is that available for Centos?
