Yes an SSD would be a good choice. Here is a good deal at Microcenter on an Intel with good read/write speeds and warranty.  $89  or  $178 for a couple of these in raid 1.

    Why not get a SSD?  I picked up a 128gb one for 98 dollars at
    Compusa in Tampa a couple weeks ago.  They are low power, and you
    don't have to worry about spinning disks.
