[App_rpt-users] I seem to be stuck

Gary,

Not sure if this is your problem but it bit me and drove me crazy when I first came up. The sample rpt.conf assumes repeater mode. I was using a simplex transceiver and I thought something was wrong with my URI. As soon as I transmitted it lost the COR signal. Since I was concentrating on that I did not realize the transmitter was keying and thus it was losing receive. Duh! It the little things that get you.

If you have duplex=2 (or anything higher) in rpt.conf it will act like a repeater. When it sees an RX signal it will key PTT. If you are using it as a simplex node you want to set duplex = 0 or 1, 0 for no telemetry (courtesy tones) or 1 for tones.

Subject: [App_rpt-users] I seem to be stuck

Setting up a new node and have run into a problem. Whilst trying to use the Echo command in "radio-tune-menu" (Step 6, "kind of acceptible"), the radio immediately keys when COR is present.Additionally, the action of "rpt fun 27238 *81" should key the radio and give the time and date, the CLI is certainly indicating it's doing so, but the radio never keys and gives the announcement. The commands "radio key" and "radio unkey" work, so did function 3, so the URI appears to be working, and the cable and radio audio path have been checked with an audio generator and scope. I have verified the web config is set to simplex, usbradio, URI, Carrier from USB, and other settings. And have pushed it to the server several times.Additionally, I have checked usbradio.conf and rpt.conf to ensure the settings made it to the node. And have of course restarted. Any suggestions? I apologize in advance if I missed something in the documentation. Thanks GaryKB2BSL
