Agreed! RTCM squelch action is very good, as good as or better than Micor squelch. Most of the time all you hear is a mic click. It sounds like stations are running commercial radios with reverse burst. When the signals get weak there is an acceptable length squelch tail. 

You do have to set the squelch adjustment a bit differently than normal. Find the threshold and then turn it up five full turns. It will still be plenty sensitive. RTCM menu 98 should show the squelch somewhere around 350 to 400.
