You might try...

inserting & unplugging the headphones several times as certain models
has a problem with the jack switch thinking the headphones were still
plunged in.(clean internal switch if you know how, they also pick-up
lint over time and hold the switch open)

Again, not sure it is the problem but it sure sounds like it to me.
