[App_rpt-users] toggling power on USB buss

Why not try the recommended option (Bryan Boyle et al) to add a dedicated USB board instead of using the built in ports since the internal bus / hub configuration seems suspect (many opinions)

You are going to spend 10x that in time and effort trying to build a workaround or trying to patch the configuration (IRQs etc) to make the built ins work.  

Time is money.

I use usb at my home node, but on the mountain I have a Quad PCI Radio card. I have not had a problem with it.
