Weirdness sat in yesterday evening... and even after everything was
powered off, unplugged, connections tightened, wires checked and
rechecked, computer was 'shutdown -h now', unplugged, caps drained, etc...

restarted everything and all seemed cool, locally.

So, I have 29655 (UHF repeater, usbradio; no-dsp), 29656 (echolink - no
hardware) and 29657 (vhf simplex node, TMV-7a using the packet port,
9600-baud [discriminator audio], ctcss from DSP) and all of a sudden,
the 2m node went ballistic.  Did the resets, made sure the node was on
the right frequency, etc, and again, this morning, there was 'echoing'
every time the 2m node was unkeyed. Sounded like acoustical feedback. 
Weirdness!

so... (on uhf) *129657. Have a friend on the other side of town - 2
systems linked together.  Dialed the uhf node to friends node. Dialed
the vhf rig to the same node ... no echo.

I let it stay like that about a half hour and just now, on vhf
disconnected from my friends link, and reconnected 29657 (vhf simplex
node) to 29655 (uhf repeater - both nodes on same computer) and ... NO ECHO.

Why?
