OK but to answer you first question - yes you could probably go up to 15 or 16 volts but 13.8 or 12 or anything in between or less would be fine.
You aren't going to get an 8V P-P swing with 12V though. Is it 8V P-P or RMS? Why so high? That is unusual.

Good idea. I'm working with an 8 V signal level requirement. If I can get away with a lesser voltage to drive my exciter, I'll use it.

It also works quite nicely on 5V as long as you do not exceed the P-P limit of the Opamp at that voltage. I use it with 5V on a system that needs a little more output punch and it works and sounds fine. Wire the opamp power source pin over to the 5V pin on the DMK. Give it a try. If it works it avoids anything external.
