[App_rpt-users] Use of ntpd in ACID

I have no problem running ntpd in my ACID servers that only have RTCMs
interfacing with radios. But when I use usb sound interfaces (URI or usb
sound fob) then I find that ntpd causes anomalies in the audio. Many
people don't notice it but I do and anyone with a good ear will notice it
and comment about the audio sounding strange and blame it on using a
computer in the audio path.

Turn ntpd off and just use *ntpdate* once per hour and the strange audio
sounds go away.

I have seen this in various systems and while it is worse in slower single
core systems, it is still slightly present even in high end quad core
systems.
But it is not present at all when using only RTCMs.
