Because hams like to experiment!  If you hadn't experimented you wouldn't have the pi2 version.  No disrespect but it wasn't that long ago I remember you claiming it wouldn't work on the pi2 and here you are with an image.

I am truly glad that n4irs continued on his path.  At one point in time I was running 3 nodes all usbradio on the Debian pi2 image.  No his or anything on usbradio either!
