Please help if someone has experience in this. We need to integrate with the radios in following three scenarios : 1. The solution has the following aspects : a. In case user has radios with DTMF keypad he shall be able to dial any extension via radio. b. In case radio does not support DTMF keypad one shall be able to dial to fixed extension using COR output from radio. c. In case radio does not support DTMF keypad or COR output from radio , by sensing the audible energy shall be able to dial to fixed extension. For 1(c) we need the following requirements as well : i)Audio level should be field adjustable. User should be able to increase of decrease audio gain to his satisfaction. ii) Speech should switch instantaneously across Radios with delay of less than 200 m sec. iii) The VOX and VMR feature must also include an adjustable audio sampling so that the radio input received during the time required making a valid signal is not clipped off. iv) The speech spectrum detector should be capable of filtering out fixed/ variable frequency sirens, whistles and horns without falsely activating cross connected radio networks. Solution is complete in case it handles all three scenarios. Please suggest in case you have solution for the same using app_rpt or URI. regards , MD -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Here is the article i use to ban nodes.. etc.. http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/56 I guess I should ask what bothers you about stations connecting listening then disconnecting.. Personally in rpt.conf i use telemdefault=2 so i don't even know when some one connects on purpose.. Only when they throw out their call then I generally try to respond if i can in a timely manner but.. Some times for what ever reason the individual on the other end may not hear me and disconnects.. Echolink has all types of issues just because of the way its designed an example of issues is having to use proxies on your phones in order to get a guaranteed connection in my mind their is no reason that multiple nodes couldn't use the same ip but for some reason echo-link was not designed this way.. I guess what i am trying to say is I ban only those who create havoc on my systems rather than trying to sort out a large permit strand.. Example of a ban would have been the station from the Philippines that for some reason didn't know how to use their call sign nor did they understand how to speak it in English.. I don't mind talking to people in other countries but they at least have to attempted to speak English and speak their call-sign at least in English Its just one of those things when you deal with echo link.. I spent about 9 hours troubleshooting and just could not make heads or tails on why this was occurring.. Had even two of the top guys here look into it.. Suddenly it started to work 24 hours later or so. Now suddenly I can't reach another one of my nodes all the way in Colorado, but if I route over another network it does. Traceroutes look bad as well. So wanted to bring it up in case anyone else is having some strange issues as I think there is a much bigger problem ongoing on some of the backhaul providers. I am using AT&T U-verse in Florida and in Colorado I am using Peakinter.net fiber 100/100 So if you are also having issues, let me know please.. I will be calling them in the AM if it is not cleared up by then. I am hitting the hey, had a long day restoring cell sites after a hurricane. Big mistake, if that occurred. This is not a script so much as it is the typical Dial R Pi lines that allow the PC IaxRpt client to work, but also allow the Android application to work. In some ways, it would seem to be the same parameters. Maybe it requires and if/else conditional statement. I just don't know. I could not sleep, and I needed to take medication, so I decided to shine a light on this. It was suggested this may be a limitation of the R Pi. I find that difficult to accept when it can run Allmon2, and many common but ancient programs like groff are in the file system. It is not much different than UNIX file systems I used to keep civilian and military aircraft in the sky. Thanks... I swapped PCs yesterday on my repeater, and now a big problem. Please, I need some help from DIAL Wizards. The critical problem is the RX audio does not get transmitted, but all other audio paths seem to work. Additional information ... 1. iaxRpt connects normally, and plays at normal level audio from the RX, also transmitting from iaxRpt goes to the TX at a normal level 2. Links to other repeaters, no problem to hear distant audio, but RX audio is not sent to the distant repeater (but goes out on other IAX links) 3. Playing audio files from app-rpt are heard on the transmitter at normal levels. Configuration ... i) RX is discriminator audio to URI, no COS/COR/PL signaling ii) TX is voice audio and a separate PL audio mixed in the radio. Process ... A. I took a second PC and loaded DIAL. B. I updated files in /etc/asterisk C. usbradio_tune_usb42316.conf and patched in the new devstr, but left all the levels the same D. usbradio_tune_usb42316.conf ... I noted the new "fever=1" (and have tried it at values 0 and 1) but have found no documentation for fever. E. I swapped the new PC for the old PC ... same URI, Ethernet, etc. ... It worked, but I missed the RX to TX loss problem during the install. F. Note, when you unkey the courtesy tone, tail messages, etc. play Thinking ... a. It is like the DSP PL is not working but I am using the same config I did under ACID b. Setting rxctcssoverride = 1 does not change the operation. ANY information about necessary changes between ACID and DIAL, or just proper DIAL operation appreciated. Because FEVER *could* change audio levels for folks that may have precisely adjusted them (in ACID), FEVER is only turned on IF you do a "radio tune rxnoise" re-calibration. FEVER was instated in ACID in January 2015, and therefore ported to DIAL by default. As far as I'm aware, every install of DIAL incorporates FEVER, and as long as you do a radio calibration, it eliminates this issue. FEVER stands for Front End VERsion, and is the work of Jim Dixon - WB6NIL, where he incorporates the bug fix provided by Jeff DePolo - WN3A. Jim made it so that the "tune" file for the chan_usbradio channel saves a "front-end version" and now, if you do the "front end tuning" using the "radio tune rxnoise" command, it will set the mode for the new fixed version, and save it that way. In other words, any new installations (since January 2015) will auto-magically be running the new, fixed version, and any old installations will not be effected unless they re-do the tuning, in which case it is likely to sound better. Hope this helps... The older online node list does show them and a bubble graph showing them connected, as usual. I started to poke around when I saw my usual connection to one of them was not possible. Got no "connection failed" but telemetry was silent, nothing. I can connect to any other nodes though. So the question is, if the software is updating the allstar server, what would make it not show in rpt_extnodes or the master node list with green shading, but does show in the online node list. Remembering back I had static entries for the one I'd normally connect to in rpt.conf, but guessing his ISP changed his address. Message-ID: Hi all, I need to run a node over a cellular data connection and have managed to get hold of a couple of Teltonika RUT105 3G modems: http://www.4gon.co.uk/teltonika-rut105-p-5010.html These devices support OpenVPN and I was wondering if it might be possible to use this to tunnel to one of my other Allstar nodes that has a regular Internet connection with a public IP address (in fact one of the sites has multiple public IP's available). Has anyone ever done anything like this and could give me a few clues as to how I proceed? I'm assuming that the node at the end of the tunnel will need two ethernet ports, one for the connection from the 3G modem to come in on and another with a different public IP for the cellular connected node to be able to use. Does this sound feasible? I'd appreciate any help anyone can give as I'm not at all sure how to go about configuring OpenVPN to do this having never used it before! I no longer have the kernel errors and the system was stable overnight. those who are more knowledgeable then i please let me know if i was barking up the right tree and or if what i did was ok to do. It looks hopeful that it will as there where no longer errors on boot. if i have time tonight i will try this on the servers i have on the bench and see if it fixed the USB issues there as well. I no longer have the kernel errors and the system was stable overnight. those who are more knowledgeable then i please let me know if i was barking up the right tree and or if what i did was ok to do. I have re-installed DIAL cut back to one URI and it ran ok for several hours. when i checked it this morning it was in failure again. Message-ID: Hello all, It appears as if the link in the " votersystem.pdf " for the MPLAB C Compiler for PIC24 and dsPIC v3.25 in LITE mode points to a page that indicates the download is no longer available. I've done quite a bit of googling for an alternate source, and can find nothing. Does anyone still have a copy they could send my way? I have a couple of voter boards running 1.07 (09/15/2012) and they keep hiccuping, dropping PTT and connection to server whenever transmitting. I have a PICkit 3 and want to try blowing the latest firmware in to see if it fixes. Thanks, -- KJ6QFS Sam Skolfield -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Board is hooked up to PICKit, and MPLAB is successfully recognizing the target device, just need some help loading the bootloader. I followed instructions, MPLAB said it wrote successfully, but no joy, the LED doesn't flash like I'm used to with the RTCMs when they first boot, and I can't capture it with the EBLEX software. 73, PIC newbie aka KJ6QFS On Fri, Oct 28, 2016 at 10:40 PM, Sam Skolfield wrote: > Hello all, > > It appears as if the link in the " votersystem.pdf " for the MPLAB C > Compiler for PIC24 and dsPIC v3.25 in LITE mode points to a page that > indicates the download is no longer available. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Hi Sam, Try these instructions... (from my notes)... VOTER HardwareBootloader There are instructions in the documentation about loading up the Microchip IDE and burning the bootloader... but they are missing some important steps... Get and install MPLAB IDE V8.66 (this is an archived/older version). Get and install MPLABC30 V3.30C for PIC24 and dsPIC (get the educational LITE version). Select LITE mode when installing. Download ALL the files in the voter_bootloader folder, these are: ENC C30-SMT.cof ENC C30.cof voter-bootloader.mcp voter-bootloader.mcs voter-bootloader.mcw Load the voter-bootloader.mcp in MPLAB. Make sure JP7 is off on the voter board. Connect the PICKit2 to the ICSP header. In MPELAB go to Programmer --> PICKit2. This should acquire the target on the voter board. *In MPELAB go to File --> Import and load the ENC 30.cof file.* This step is MISSING from the original instructions, so there is nothing to program. *Now* you should be able to go to View --> Program Memory and find the IP address at 0x03018. In MPELAB go to Programmer --> Program to load the bootloader in to the voter board. Remove the PICKit2, the LED's should flash 3 times if the firmware loaded. Install JP7 on the voter board. Now, follow the firmware updating procedure below to load the firmware. Start the ENC_LOADER and load the current voter.cry from the board-firmware folder (SVN). You can also just use the Microchip IDE and the PICkit2 to read one of the existing boards, and program the rest... as a bonus, it loads the current firmware with it. Firmware Updates For bare chips, you need to load the voter-bootloader first. This is covered in the votersystem.pdf and more importantly (without missing steps), see above. For updating firmware once you have the bootloader installed, follow these steps... You need the two files you will find here: http://svn.ohnosec.org/viewvc/projects/allstar/voter/EBLEX%20C30%20Programmer/?root=svn That is the ENC_Loader.ini and ENC_loader.exe. This is the utility to load the firmware in the PIC. Now you need the actual firmware file (one of the .cry files) from here: http://svn.ohnosec.org/viewvc/projects/allstar/voter/board-firmware/?root=svn or the source files and compile your self using the Microchip compiler. The ones with SMT in the name are for the RTCM and the ones without are for the original voter board (ours). Make sure you use the right one for the hardware that you have. Run ENC_loader.exe and enter the Target IP address of the RTCM/voter board (default 192.168.1.11) and click "set address". Click file and select the Voter.cry file that you downloaded. Telnet to the RTCM and login. Make sure that the Bootloader IP address is set to an appropriate value and saved. Issue the "r" command to reboot. Immediately click the "Capture Target" button in the Encrypted Ethernet Loader Utility. Once you see the message "LIA Status: 4000" you can click the "Program" button. Wait till you see the "finished programing file" message. Then click the "Reset LIA" button. The VOTER board should restart, and after about 5 seconds, the green activity light should start flashing, etc. It should be up and running the new software. I know that it works when you are on the same LAN as the RTCM. It works over a routed network if the routers properly forward UDP port 16388 and do proxy arp. I have had trouble getting it to work over the Internet via NAT at both ends. You will need to do calibration once the firmware is loaded. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Lee, that was it! Both my voter boards are now revived and working perfectly! Thank you very much for pointing this out. It's a real shame that there is no motivation to add such an important piece of information to the PDF that would otherwise allow myself and many others who have no PIC programming experience to EASILY do this on our own. If that little omission was added to the document, I could have done this ENTIRELY on my own simply by following the instructions. Perhaps it has been forgotten that although the thru-hole board is no longer available, the EAGLE files and parts list still are, and people who aren't experienced with PICS may still want to "roll their own" without bugging the group. By the way, if anyone else is looking for an updated link to download the C30 compiler for MPLAB, here it is... http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/mplabc30-v3.25-comboUpgrade.exe Thanks again, Lee. Someone may have asked privately. I would say that thanks to Lee's notes a tweak could be made to the doc. And yes, I also own one of the thru-hole boards. 73, Steve N4IRS On 10/30/2016 03:24 PM, Sam Skolfield wrote: > It is my assumption, considering the project is around ten years old, > it seemed unlikely that such an omission hasn't been brought to > attention. Message-ID: I decided that I would create another video on how to install allstarlink and set it up with the fancy allmon2 and iaxrpt for windows. I know the video is long and drawn out... But if you think about it their is a ton of steps to setting up and running an allstar node.. I hope you all enjoy and are able to help others with this tutorial after all that's why it was created.. Here is a link to the forum page where video is provided. http://forum.voipham.com/index.php/topic,26.msg30.html#msg3 Greetings I have been asked several times of the past few weeks to make a demonstration on how to install allstarlink on the pc platform.. Here is a video on the basics Instructions tutorial listed below.. First you want to download the current version of Dial from allstarlink.org Next you want to either burn that to a cd or usb by your preferred method.. Now you will need to setup your nod from allstarlink.. In order to do this you will need to request a node and create a server in the allstarlink panel. After doing that you will be assigned a node number and then you can begin the process of installation of your dial machine.. Insert CD boot from CD or USB which ever media your prefer then Hit enter on the first selected installation process.. Warning this will remove every thing on that hard drive be sure you have backed up your system prior to doing this.. You will want to ensure that your pc is plugged into the internet because it is a live installation meaning it pulls the installation files from the internet rather than the disk.. After installation is compete most pc shut down.. please remove your installation media and start back up the pc.. After a restart it will boot to a log in screen Username is: root Password is: debian Follow the on screen steps as provided in the video.. Also make sure you pick a strong password.. Now for customized installation of allmon2 and htop unzip and other tools needed.. Code: [Select] apt-get install apache2 php5 libapache2-mod-php5 php5-mcrypt htop unzip Now to Download allmon 2 change directory to allmon2 example /var/www/allmon2 if allmon2 does not exist create the directory like this Code: [Select] mkdir allmon2 Example commands Code: [Select] cd /var/www/ mkdir allmon2 cd allmon2 Code: [Select] wget [url= https://github.com/tsawyer/allmon2/archive/master.zip]https://github.com/tsawyer/allmon2/archive/master.zip[/url ] Here is the detailed directions on installation of allmon2. http://forum.voipham.com/index.php/topic,25.0.html Follow the video for detailed instructions on this and iaxrpt.. http://forum.voipham.com/index.php/topic,24.0.html For telemetry issues i use this command in rpt.conf Just before the statistics reporting line.. I put Code: [Select] telemdefault=2 This allows telemetry only after you command your node for about 2 minutes then it doesn't use telemetry until you command your node again.. Hope this helps some of you!
