Thank you for letting me know this fix is ok to do.
i am experiencing USB issues on booth the nodes i upgraded from DIAL and the new ones i have been testing on the bench.
this fix was just applied to another server with 4 nodes tat has intermittent USB issues, the errors always show up on boot.
after sapling this fix there where no errors on boot, time will tell if this fixes those errors as well.
It looks hopeful that it will as there where no longer errors on boot.
if i have time tonight i will try this on the servers i have on the bench and see if it fixed the USB issues there as well.

I have not seen other reports of this. From what I read, the solution looks safe.

I may have found the resolution to this issue
First let me say that i am not a Linux expert.
i googled the kernel errors i was getting.
this solution was not directly related to this USB device or even a sound card, however i thought i would try it.
i created options.conf in /etc/modprobe.d
in options.conf i placed the line
options usbcore use_both_schemes=y
saved then rebooted.
I no longer have the kernel errors and the system was stable overnight.
those who are more knowledgeable then i please let me know if i was barking up the right tree and or if what i did was ok to do.

Subject: Another node server having stability issues
Please can someone help me find the answer to make my server / nodes reliable.
The computer is a HP 5700 with one gig of ram.
it locks up and or sends clicking sounds with key-ups to the rest of the linked system and or stops responding.
I have re-installed DIAL cut back to one URI and it ran ok for several hours.
when i checked it this morning it was in failure again.
Any help appreciated.
below are some log outputs that may help in finding out what is wrong.
