Thanks David, no need to go any further on this. Thanks for checking.

Everything is working as it should.

Subject: Re: [App_rpt-users] Link audio level

Hi Danny,

I tested the linkmongain setting and it does work as it was designed to.
That command is named poorly, calling it linkmonduck would be a better
name.

linkmongain ONLY works for links in monitor mode, meaning that the
connection was made using *2 (or *72 for permanent connections)...It does
NOT work when *3 (or *73 for permanent connections) is the connection
mode.

Also note that linkmongain only changes the level of the monitored links
when other normal local or link audio is also present. So, this acts
similarly to telemetry ducking, where the telemetry level is changed by
the telemduckgain parameter---when local (or other link audio) audio is
present, only then does the linkmongain setting have any impact.

There is no parameter (that I know of?) to independently adjust the audio
level for incoming AllStar links. This is different from echolink (erxgain
parameter), IRLP (irxgain parameter) and TLB (The link box) (trxgain
parameter), where they can have their network audio levels changed....It
is normally considered that AllStar links will all have their levels
"normalized," so an independent setting for AllStar link gain levels
should be unneeded.

Does this make sense?

If there is a need, for an AllStar link gain setting, I add this to the
feature request list??

Hi Danny,

I don't think I've ever tried the linkmongain setting. But, I don't think
I've changed any of that code, either. I'll test and if it's broken, fix
it, today.
