Both work fine, if the repeater owner has provided you with a login name 
and password/secret (if you are not the repeater owner, then asterisk 
has to be configured to accept a call from either software package for 
your use; it's not open access) to access via iaxrpt or Zoiper.

The web transceiver is problematic due to Java security settings. You 
can downgrade the security of Java on your PC and get it to work, but 
then that opens up a whole pile of other issues if you hit a website 
that has badly written Java or vulnerabilities that can be exploited by 
such a downgrade.

Another alternative (not the best) is Echolink, if the repeater you are 
trying to connect to has enabled that in their Allstar installation.
