The last time I saw someone make a request for a gpio PTT driver on the Hamvoip list the
response was something along the lines of 'why would you want to do that. we see no need'.

I'd love to have a gpio ptt driver since I have my own custom dual radio interface board that
uses gpio's for PTT and COS.
If efforts to build a package for raspian ever happen I'll look into adding support. In the past
I've tried to build my own custom version but the online instructions had so many
dependencies on Arch that I gave up for the time being. I gave up on Allstar and went with
SvxLink which does have gpio support.
I'm also reasonably certain the NWDigital guys would love support for their UDRC and
DRAWS products since they use gpio's as well.
