every day if you want to be a part of the community. Before I got busy
with $DAYJOB, I used to try to help people out on the mailing list, when
I'd see a question I could answer. Now, that's impossible to do, unless
you go to the website every day. With a mailing list, you can filter off
the messages, come back to them a month or 3 down the road and catch up on
what's happening. I honestly have gotten tired of trying to be part of web
forums - I have limited time on the computer, I can't spend it jumping
around between multiple forums.
If you want to use the forum, great. But do not keep those of us who *DO*
want to stick with a mailing list from doing so! If the AllStar
"management" (last time I heard this was an open-source community, not a
dictatorship) had given people warning, maybe we could have steered them in
the right direction.
