So if I understand this correctly you want to keep a node running but disable the transmitter, from a remote node. Lets say your node is 100, and the remote is 105. You're local to 105. Use cop,4 to proxy your commands, typical this is mapped to *4 1. connect node 100 to node 40821: *4-100-*3-40821 Means send *3-40821 to node 100 2. disable node 100 using cop, 3, say mapped to *876 DTMF *4-100-*876 This will send *876 to the node 100 and disable it. Once the node is disabled anyone connected through it will remain connected, but no new connections will be permitted. If you want to just disable the transmitter using a relay you can do the same with GPIO as well. The other option here is to setup a pseudo node as a hub and just connect everything to that. -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net From ars.w5omr at gmail.com Sat Jun 1 20:55:12 2019 From: ars.w5omr at gmail.com (ARS W5OMR) Date: Sat, 1 Jun 2019 15:55:12 -0500 Subject: [App_rpt-users] Disconnect a local node In-Reply-To: <25b595bf-1d8d-e3b1-e740-ebb7fd409870@bryanfields.net> References: <25b595bf-1d8d-e3b1-e740-ebb7fd409870@bryanfields.net> Message-ID: The other option here is to setup a pseudo node as a hub and just connect > everything to that. > > -- > that's my thinking -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Can you confirm this? Basically it's Debian, and uses /etc/network/interfaces quick example: auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 44.98.248.123 netmask 255.255.255.0 network 44.248.0.0 broadcast 44.248.0.255 gateway 44.248.0.1 dns-nameservers 44.103.0.4 dns-search allstarlink.org You may want to update /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/hostname to have the proper host name in it. Depending on the browser available at the time. While the search feature does provide a quick way of finding an individual call or node number it does not function as well as the the "Filter" on the other Allstar node listing but will at least let you find a specific station quickly. Jump here enter a City/state name in the upper right "Filter" box. Like Seattle or someplace you might be traveling through and see the listing that returns... A much more useful function than the search for one individual node. To me that on a phone or tablet would be most useful when hunting Access or a specific Callsign to connect to when mobile etc. Larry - N7FM On 6/17/19 11:17 AM, Jon Rorke wrote: > In some browsers use control-F and a text search box will pop up. > > you can search for any text on the page. > > This is not an Allstar thing but a browser thing. > > Jon VA3RQ > > > On 17/06/2019 2:07 p.m., larry wrote: >> Thanks for that Tim. Choose a link. You will note that the TPA link if shown is at/near the bottom of the list and most likely any searcher will follow one of the links that point to since the TPA link description says... --------------------------------------------------- AllStar Link | Node List - AllStarLink.org https://web-tpa.allstarlink.org/nodelist/ Repeater Controller with VoIP linking for Ham Radio. ---------------------------------------------------- Hmmm Not looking for Repeater controller info... so I'd select another. Once there imagine yourself being new to Allstar. How from the stats page would you locate nodes in Meridian Idaho without any prior knowledge of callsigns or node numbers at that location. Scrolling/Searching the entire list is the only option from that link unless you already know the information you are seeking. No doubt this isn't a make or break issue and I will let it die. My suggestion was merely an attempt to point out a way to make Allstar a bit more user friendly. Your "Filter" like on the nodelist page would provide that function. 73 Larry - N7FM On 6/17/19 2:25 PM, Tim Sawyer wrote: > I guess I don?t understand why the nodes list won?t work as a front end > to the stats page. > > Just just use the nodes list to find the city or whatever you are > looking for then click the node to see the node on the stat page? > > > > On Mon, Jun 17, 2019 at 8:07 AM larry > wrote: > > Thanks for that Tim.
