In asl 1.01 or DIAL, or heck even ACID the custom node name announcements were
synced using rsync://allstarlink.org/connect-messages

This has recently stopped working, and rsync.allstarlink.org has been in place
for some time.  It looks like anyone running rc.updatenodelist will need to
change their script and then reboot or kill it.  I suspect this is due to
killing off seal, the old allstarlink.org server, and is why the phone portal
is down as well.
