Their new system appears to be working flawlessly for the last two weeks. I see there are consistently over 5100 nodes registered at any one time on their new system. The nodelist and stats page comes up so much faster than the old registration server.
By chance do you have more than just an opinion on this? Like hard empirical data? I would really like to see a real comparison of what the old and new node lists and registration servers acted with the 5100 nodes on both systems.
> I know this may be a controversial statement but I just don't see the point of setting up a separate PTTlink registration server. It adds a lot of unnecessary technical complications for no apparent gain. There are approximately only 50 nodes registering on the PTTlink system at any one time. I suspect a lot of those sites simply have static IP addresses in their configuration files and are none the wiser. They probably don't realize their nodes are not on the allstarlink system.
May I ask the reason for this comment? I see no reason for the thinly veiled attempt on trashing these folks. I actually find it a dirty move on your part and shows quite a bit about your character.
> Google Cloud Flare is really robust and has also sorts of backup and failover solutions. My work uses Cloud Flare and all our techs love it.
I am of the humble opinion you may not be qualified to make this statement. I would have to say the second part of it is the give away that you aren't a tech. I find this rather odd as well to say only due to reading all the banter. I am increasingly troubled by all the attempts to discredit. I initially was troubled by both sides on this. . I now find I am more troubled by the discrediting happening by AllStarLink.
> I know there is a lot of hard feelings from the PTTlink group toward the Allstarlink Inc group. If the PTTlink folks want to set up their own separate registration then do it. Nevertheless, it is time for the PTTlink group to do the right thing and frankly grow up. They need to return Jim Dixon's IP ranges and the Allstarlink Git hub page back to Allstarlink Inc. Just because their feelings are hurt doesn't justify stealing the IP address ranges and talking control of the Github. - Shame on the PTTlink group for doing that. They are only punishing the Ham community by this childish and frankly criminal behavior. If they have some justification for stealing the IP addresses and the Github, I would love to hear it.
> I suspect we will hear crickets.
May I ask on what authority you base your information? I would love to know where all the experts are coming from on this. I suspect it is much like what we see on Facebook with people becoming experts the moment they log on.
Both AllStarLink and PTTLink are to blame. AllStarLink did a pretty shitty and underhanded move and PTTLink are no angels here. I am really troubled with all the gatekeeping and smears that I am seeing here and on Community from AllStarLink board members and their fans.
Too bad AllStarLink seems to be showing that the statements here may indeed be true.
PTTLink I still have not had an answer to my questions. Are we indeed going to get crickets on this?
