<DIV><FONT size=4>Hello group,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>Name is Ron, VK3ANT from Melbourne, Australia. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>I am new to the group so please take it easy on me when I goof
up here</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>I set up a AllStar server and a node here at home, well I
didn’t do much, a chap ( Tony ) in Arkansas did most of it and it was
working pretty well until a few days ago. One thing he couldn’t get going was
the time and there was an issue with the status page where my node ( 28467 )
could not be seen.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>Anyway, he sent me some info to try a few things and well, you
guessed it, I muffed the server, you might say I murdered it, now I have
nothing.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>I am using an RTCM here ( well I was ) and all was working
pretty well as I said. I have never messed around with the Linux system and
hence I was/are very unfamiliar playing with it. Tony, being a guru knew what he
was doing and so when he configured my server he did so manually and outside the
AllStar Portal. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>Now that all that configuration has gone, well I am “trying” (
read hair pulling ) to reconfigure my server within the pages of the portal, but
when I download the information it just gives me all these hundreds of error
messages.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>I ran the Acid disc over my server PC again which takes about
an hour, I don’t have a static IP address so when it asked the question, I
answered “N”, it goes through quite a process until it gives me more questions
wanting my Portal Log In and Password, continues with the server config for a
while longer and finally comes to the “ test login “ page.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>To this point I figured I was going OK. Back in the Portal now
and I created and submitted the server details, got the reply of Congratulations
...etc. then I continue to fill in the pages as required and submitting them at
the end of the process. After all that I try to download the server information,
click the “initiate” button, then I see nothing, not a thing happens. I can
leave things running all night and when I get up in the morning, still
nothing.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>Where I am thinking my problem lies is that Tony set the
server up manually, and I have read somewhere on the portal pages that I am now
not able to reconfigure the server from the portal pages, is this correct, if
so, am I able to delete my old server information from the main AllStar server
itself then setup a whole new server using the setup pages on the Portal
?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=4>Getting to be a little bit desperate here as, like I say, it
takes a good hour to set up the server each time I run the Acid disc over it
again, so I am now trying to not have to do that again. Can any of you guys give
me any information where things are going wrong or maybe point me toward a page
that I can read about it.</FONT></DIV>
