If you have a radio that will work this way, if it has de/pre-empashized audio and COS, PTT such as one you previously used with IRLP then it is easy to use simpleUSB. I use Alinco's with the data connector. Five wires to the DMK, audio in/out, PTT, COS, ground.<br><br>The Acid Allstar installation disk comes with USBradio as stock, the simpleUSB file is not even in the asterisk directory. It is on the installation disk in the -<br><br>/usr/src/astsrc/configs/simpleusb/ directory and needs to be copied to the asterisk directory. <br><br>SimpleUSB installation instructions are at<br><br><a href="http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/193" target="_blank">http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/193</a><br><br>I use simpleusb on my systems and I have set it up on others and it works well. If the hardware takes care of these things why have the SW do it. Yes it is more flexible and more techy vogue to use USBradio but it works fine without it and it is a lot less load on the prcosessor especially on systems where you have multiple nodes and marginal processing power.<br id="FontBreak"></font><font style="" face="Tahoma"><br></font><font style="" face="Tahoma">So if things are just not working maybe try simpleUSB.
