I have definitely run two on a powered, but not plugged in, hub on the Beagle Bone Black thus getting all power from the one Black usb port. The question is not power but rather if the hub works well with the data. Not all hubs are created equal. Some may not work well.

If you are using a hub because you are running on the Beagle Bone Black I would recommend just using another Black. I think you will have better results. Good hubs are not cheap so throwing another Black at it is a good alternative.

73 Doug
WA3DSP
http://www.crompton.com/hamradio

> Date: Sun, 6 Jul 2014 21:56:12 -0400
> From: jonathan.weirmeir@gmail.com
> To: app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org
> Subject: [App_rpt-users] URIx USB current draw and USB sound FOB current draw
>
> Anyone have numbers for this?
>
> I'm looking at buying a powered USB 2.0 hub to run two URIx and maybe
> up to 2 sound FOBs.
>
> Wondering how much current I should need.
>
> Thanks,
>
> Jonathan
> _______________________________________________
> App_rpt-users mailing list
> App_rpt-users@ohnosec.org
> http://ohnosec.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/app_rpt-users
>
> To unsubscribe from this list please visit http://ohnosec.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/app_rpt-users and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
