Very much less recommended.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Getting to the root of the problem - Cleaning the process - would be first. Something in app_rpt/asterisk is soaking more cpu cycles. It could be "something like" iaxRPT (if using) or a manually added function of app_rpt or even a event logger with a large log or a combination of things. Just some ideas.<br></div><div><br></div><div>I have never had such a issue with asterisk so I'm only talking theory and that's how I would look for it.</div><div>Not sure if that helps any... Anyone know why regular ping would show no loss, yet IAX shows there is loss? I’ve even seen localhost connections with IAX loss. Which makes me think there is something other than a network problem.<div><br></div><div>Here’s an example… 0% loss ICMP ping yet 7% IAX loss:</div><div><br></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">--- 208.70.77.197 ping statistics ---</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">100 packets transmitted, 100 received, 0% packet loss, time 99159ms</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 5.939/7.540/10.921/0.882 ms</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">[root@IronSystem ~]# asterisk -r</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">Asterisk 1.6.2.24, Copyright (C) 1999 - 2010 Digium, Inc. and others.</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">Created by Mark Spencer <<a target="_blank" href="mailto:markster@digium.com">markster@digium.com</a>></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">Asterisk comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; type 'core show warranty' for details.</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">This is free software, with components licensed under the GNU General Public</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">License version 2 and other licenses; you are welcome to redistribute it under</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco;">certain conditions.
