<html><body><span style="font-family:Verdana; color:#000000; font-size:10pt;"><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Loren,</div><div><br></div><div>You can do that now without writing a app, using a sip client on a cell phone to access a particular node.</div><div>Also can be set-up for http access sip connection. Works with phone or pc.<br></div><div><br></div><div>I think what you are speaking of is doing the same access to all allstar nodes like webtransiever.</div><div>Do you really want echolink style access to all nodes ? </div><div><br></div><div>I don't think you will find much appetite for it among node owners/operators. I could be wrong.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Most
have a echolink port on their systems and have set them up in a way
that can be turned off when a problem occurs. I doubt many want to run
NOICE on allstar from the same problems. So most of us have phone app
access via echolink, and we can turn it off when undesirably problematic.<br></div><div><br></div><div>My
systems are not crying out for more folks connecting and testing
without listening for activity before doing so. Many allstar nodes are
continuously networked over wide areas and think of the headaches there. I think you must leave it to node owner/ops to decide sip connectivity. There, they have direct control of problem connections.<br></div><div><br></div><div>While it is a desirable function, it has undesirable effects for owner/ops and users who are using "radios".<br></div><div><br>...mike/kb8jnm<br></div> <div><div id="wmQuoteWrapper"><br></div><div><br></div><div>-------- Original Message --------<br> Subject: [App_rpt-users] Ideas (Mobile App)<br> From: Loren Tedford <<a target="_blank" href="mailto:lorentedford@gmail.com">lorentedford@gmail.com</a>><br> Date: Thu, September 11, 2014 1:11 pm<br> To: app_rpt mailing list <<a target="_blank" href="mailto:app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org">app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org</a>><br> <br> </div><div id="wmQuoteWrapper"><div dir="ltr"><div><div>Since allstar is pretty well accessible with sip clients i wonder how easy it would be to build a mobile app that we could use on both Iphones and Andriod based OS I know that this would involve alot of work probably however I think it would help out Allstar greatly especially if we were to compare it to Echolink where thats all the old timers talk about.. Echolink to them is just name recognition but just like Windows it has its flaws... This is only just an Idea if some one else has thought of this i apologize for stepping on anybody toes...
