Have you tried a different USB port on the PC. Do you have
another URI to try? I doubt it is the URI but you never know.<br

It sounds like it might be a SW issue in your PC. From
what you say outside influences should reset the URI. Take
a good look at your logs on the PC both system and
Asterisk and see if you can determine anything.<br

I'm running a PC with usbradio.<br>
<br>
This is something that just recently showed up. The
system has been running fine at it's current location
for over a year. The IBM PC that I'm using has a (heavy)
metal chassis and I should be able to get a good ground
on it back to the building's halo.<br>
<br>
Unplugging the URI and plugging back in does reset it.
When it's not working, the green LED is steady.<br>
<br>
<br>
Thanks!<br>

What computer are you using? PC or Beagle Bone
Black? etc. Also usbradio or simpleusb?<br>
<br>
This is a common problem on the URI with external
EMI and power spikes. <br>
<br>
The problem can be fixed. You need to ground
everything and eliminate EMI as much as possible. <br>
<br>
The other issue is the USB not resetting when it has
this problem. Most of the PC's will but probably not
all. The next version of the BBB code coming out
soon will reset fine. <br>
<br>
If you are using simpleusb there is a bug in the
code that precludes a reset upon USB interruption.
This fix will also be in the BBB code that is coming
soon. If you want to fix a PC simplesusb
installation here is the link -<br>
<br>
<a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://www.crompton.com/hamradio/BeagleBoneBlackAllstar/simpleusb-howto.pdf"
target="_blank">http://www.crompton.com/hamradio/BeagleBoneBlackAllstar/simpleusb-howto.pdf</a><br>
<br>
See how to do the patch at the end of the pdf.<br>
<br>
You should be able to pull the USB cable from the
URI while in use (green light flashing normally) and
reinstall the USB and it should start flashing
again. If not then your system will not recover from
USB EMI hits properly. <br>
<br>
It is always a good idea to try and fix or reduce
the problem because in severe cases it would be
resetting all the time. It sounds like you case is
less severe.<br id="ecxFontBreak">
