???? We are using voted receivers - and it is very interesting thatyou mention the network issues causing the dropping which Idescribe as GPS drops.<br>
??????? I assumed since the error on the serial monitor indicatesthat the "GPS ....lost.." followed by "acquiring... xx satellites inview" then "establishing.." (I dont recall the actual wording)statements to be caused by an interruption of the GPS, or thehandling of the GPS serial by the RTCM DSPic.? Duringthe test of the full system last night I noticed over two-dozeninterruptions, mostly at the remote transmitter site, that causeda lot of problems.? All of the sites are on the same ISP withover 1-Gbs bandwidth at all of the sites. I called the ISP this afternon<br>
and was told that at 7-9PM last night that the POP where theTX was located, the bandwidth was full - this makes a lot ofsense now....? ALSO, today we noticed that the DMR systemat the site is having refresh and registration issues from packetdrop with the C-Bridge, and the ISP bandwidth issues still persist.<br>
??????? It does appear that the network is a serious limitation untilthe next Gb of bandwidth is completed, at least to our transmit"site", slated for the next month? So the network is now a known<br>
problem. I guess that I had mis-interpreted this dropped packet issue<br>
as a? GPS lock issue. I had been considering running a file on<br>
the GPS rx serial line along with a file of the console serial to<br>
see if I can actually correlate the GPS error messages with a<br>
problem on the rx serial in - but if you have seen this before as<br>
a result of the network problem, then I will rectify the network issue first<br>
and then see if the GPS errors abate.<br>

Just curious, how are you sure it's GPS dropping?? I had a similar issue and I was sure it was GPS but it wound up being a network issue on a network that I was SURE was perfect.? What's your setup?? Voted receivers, simulcast transmitters or a standalone RTCM?<br>

The biggest problem is that the GPSdrops lock at times once every 15 minutes, at other times once every4-5 hours.? I have dealt with similar GPS issues. Usually the LOS is caused either<br>
by antenna or interference issues. If you are not very close to a high<br>
power broadcast station and the antenna is fairly clear to the sky,<br>
double check your antenna connections/connectors, and try a different<br>
antenna.<br>

got a 2 node site with Acid on an old P4 computer. It is working great but<br>
I need to replace it before it goes down.<br>

I will replace it with a used server computer that is in great shape. a<br>
proliant with dual nic (gigabit) multiple power supply, ect.. xeon dual cpu<br>
8 gig of ram.<br>

I know that it is over kill but it was given to me and I want to connect<br>
the second nic to a Mesh that we are starting around Montreal and provide<br>
service from there..<br>

So I need to confirm some stuff..<br>

Can I use the configuration file that I have from the old computer?<br>
will the node level settings be the same, or do I need to redo the level<br>
ajustement?<br>

I know that I some files will need to be changed.. can anyone confirm wich<br>
