<p>A quick backup assumes root. use sudo if/where needed.<br>
</p>
<p>cd /etc/asterisk</p>
<p>mkdir bk</p>
<p>cp *.* /etc/asterisk/bk</p>
<p>Now copies of all the files are there in /etc/asterisk/bk</p>
<p>look to make sure your files are there beforehand.<br>
</p>
<p>to copy back</p>
<p>cp /etc/asterisk/bk/*.* /etc/asterisk</p>
<p>I am assuming you are not doing a upgrade method that is
destructive to the data on the whole HDD.<br>
</p>
<p>Best to copy your .conf files off disk somewhere beforehand.</p>
<p>Using a GUI program like winscp makes this much easier and
faster.</p>
<p>But suggest you also look-up for online linux how-to's for file
manipulation.<br>
