My XPR8300 does not have any telephone port (RJ11) for this option. In addition, I see that even for other models (XPR8XXX) you need the CONNECT PLUS XRI 9100 INTERCONNECT GATEWAY to perform this function.
What am I missing?

I'm not certain about the Hytera repeaters, but Motorola MotoTRBO repeaters require purchase of a code to be entered in the CPS to enable telephone interconnection, which is sort of what we would be doing. I also know that a ham in Europe was experimenting with connecting a Hytera repeater to Asterisk via the Hytera telephone interconnection port.
