I think my aversion to Wires is centered around a Windows box that the radio or repeater has to be linked through.
I would guess that the WIRES-X interface could be used with a non-wiresx environment.
Or I am just a radio snob... Could be that too
What happens when someone pulls the plug on allstar? What happens when someone pulls the plug on fusion? Nothing is forever. I highly doubt any plugs are getting pulled yaesu is putting a lot "skin in the game" to see fusion a success.
Hell c-bridge operators pull the plug on the DMR-MARC network when they get fed up.
