I’m going to take a wild guess and say your COR and/or CTCSS (and possible the duplex setting) is wrong. 

Make sure duplex=0 or duplex=1 (see http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/84).

Then at the Asterisk CLI do a "rpt stats <your node number>" and make sure the “Signal on input………..: NO/YES” is following your keyups.

I have installed acid on a PC and set up the node from advanced repeater specialties. It is plugged into a UV five are beofang hand-held.
I am able to connect to the All-Star network. But every time I transmit or receive a signal. I get a voice message it says node 40720 timeout.
I have research this to the best of my ability could someone please give me some help.
