As for the re-writes. The only thing I can think of would be the ASL logs. You can use a USB stick and mount it. Then point ASL log's to the USB stick. But, I would check with the card manufacturer on the re-write limit. I can say I have had no problems if card failing do to re-writes. If you have a good card go for it. If you have a cheap card. Go out and get a good one.
