Hmmm, have not seen that - but the easiest way to do it would be to go into /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/phonetic and replace those recordings with the equivalent ones from /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/letters   -  keeping the names the same.  That is,  a.gsm would be copied to a_p.gsm

Of course, you would lose phonetics everywhere they are used, not just echolink.

I read a post on here recently that someone had modified the source code slightly to change Alison from a phonetic Echolink announcement to just the letters.

I'd like to do this too and I have scanned through the source code but I am unable to spot where this is done.

Could anyone give me a pointer please?
