Geoff,
You have it correct. If you try to run radio-tune menu as
user repeater, you do get the error. Running it with sudo
radio-tune-menu works. The user repeater does have sudo
privileges, which allow you to run a command with elevated
rights.
If you do not want to have to type sudo, you can either run
sudo -s or set the root password (which is NOT set by
default) and then use su.

In my case, it was a permissions issue.
User 'repeater' is supposed to have sudo
(sudo -l) rights, but every time I tried to enter a
command on ASL 1.01, it had to be proceeded with
'sudo'.
Try 'sudo radio-tune-menu' and see what
happens.

Error parsing device parameters
I've read through past messages and checked that
chan_usbradio was the active one in modules and that
simple USB was set for no load. Also as of right now
my nodes load with the URI's and sort of function as
they are. Even when no radios are hooked up they
lockup in "transmit" mode. I've tried rebooting the
system and any other suggestions I could find with no
luck. I've tried with both new and old conf files with
no success.
