I think it is easier to setup VOX in extensions.conf (use Pv instead of P), then just use the mute button as your PTT.

exten => 28765,1,Rpt,28765|Pv ;|P for phone control

exten => 29009,1,Rpt,29009|Pv ;|Pv for phone control w/vox
