If this is true (not doubting you) then a BBB which I have would not fit for my needs. My current node is on a small form factor PC and does PBX duty for my home QTH as well as the interface to Allstar and the URIx. It is a whimpy 1.6 GHz PC and seems to handle the duties fine so I would expect the BBB could as well if enabled to do so.

If memory serves correctly..... on the BBB version they removed SIP functionally.

Try using IAX.
