Sounds familiar to my experience... bought a relatively new
motherboard, but had to find an older configuration motherboard for the ACID
build to interface properly with the audio; digital worked fine. At first I
thought the uri was bad... not the case. uridiag worked fine with the older
configuration board, but not the new. True for both URI and URIx, which use
different loop back plug. So, I recommend testing the uri on a known good ACID
install (read that as on compatible hardware).
I've built several since. I load ACID, stop asterisk and run uridiag to
determine if I can get it to work with the ACID build, even trying manipulating
the BIOS settings, when it does not work. Since Hubs don't use audio interface,
it is not an issue.
There is a CentOS 6.x ACID build out there, but Jim says they have not
gotten it to work with the newer audio drivers.

I just downloaded the
diag program and briefly looked at the paperwork. My thought too was to build
the interface and test the device. Yes this is a new setup. This is a second HD
on an existing system to test the waters. I thought they were clear until I
realized it wasn't any miss cabling on my part. just no audio from the URI that
was the fault. The computer is a Dell about 2 years old. here in the shack. 8
GB ram and its a 750gb HD for the project. I will move it to a new computer
next weekend if I can figure this out.
More info after I run the
test later this week. I have closed up shop and grabbed a cold one to end the
weekend.

Have you used the uridiag test routine from the dmk website to test the URI on
the same computer? Remember to stop asterisk before executing uridiag. They
both want control of Linux.

I can pass audio out to
the network but I can't receive anything more than a dead carrier. I unplugged
the URI using a test amplifier and had the system send some system ID and
time messages. I get nothing out of the URI. I probed pins 22 and 23 is this a
URI issue ( New out of the box ) or something in software ??
