Okay--- Update....I have some sort of success on an ACID Install and It appears to almost work...IF I connect to the node, it tells me 'invalid Frequency' then the node number 'Connected'IF I poll the freq, it comes back as correct and the radio displays the proper freq of the init memory channel. no sweat.I can bump up down all around..IF i change freqs, it complains about 'invalid frequency' and the display doesn't change. IF I bump up or down the bumped frequency shows up on the radio, and if I bump the other direction it will be right on.Modes don't switchsays it does, but doesn't.Ideas? Here is the rpt.conf from my remote node...[582]; Ada IC-706 Remote Baserxchannel=SimpleUSB/usb ; Rx audio/signalling channelfunctions = functions-remotefunctions = functions-repeatermemory = memoryremote = ic706ioport = /dev/ttyUSB0civaddr = 88authlevel=0[functions-remote]0=remote,1 ; Retrieve Memory1=remote,2 ; Set freq.2=remote,3 ; Set tx PL tone3=remote,4 ; Set rx PL tone6=remote,6 ; Set Mode 1=FM 2=USB 3=LSB 4=AM40=remote,100 ; Rx PL off41=remote,101 ; Rx PL on42=remote,102 ; Tx PL off43=remote,103 ; Tx PL on44=remote,104 ; Low Power45=remote,105 ; Medium Power46=remote,106 ; High Power711=remote,107 ; Bump -20714=remote,108 ; Bump -100717=remote,109 ; Bump -500713=remote,110 ; Bump +20716=remote,111 ; Bump +100719=remote,112 ; Bump +500721=remote,113 ; Scan - slow724=remote,114 ; Scan - quick727=remote,115 ; Scan - fast723=remote,116 ; Scan + slow726=remote,117 ; Scan + quick729=remote,118 ; Scan + fast79=remote,119 ; Tune51=remote,5 ; Long status query52=remote,140 ; Short status query67=remote,210 ; Send a *69=remote,211 ; Send a #[nodes][nodes](+)#include nodes.include[memory]init = 14.250,100.0,u ; 14.250MHz upper sideband00 = 146.460,100.0,sht01 = 146.940,100.0,-l02 = 14.250,100.0,u ; 14.250MHz upper sidebandIt is short and sweet.. Works the same if I use the default from the Dupral site.. works the same if I copy someone elses. I stripped all the stuff out of it that it seems not to care about to make it blatantly simple. Thanks for the help!On Sun, Nov 30, 2014 at 11:25 AM, <mike@midnighteng.com> wrote:As far as the BBB, you may not be defining the serial com correctly, but I don't know that from what you have provided for info.Could you send your entire < [xxxnodeconfig] from rpt.conf > from your acid install to me to understand what is or is not happening. It's hard to say a thing without more info. Probably a type error and you need other set of eyes. Also, is it defined as a stand alone RB node(ie 29261 = radio@127.0.0.1/29261,NONE,y ; ,y =remote base)...mike/kb8jnm-------- Original Message --------

Hello all...I have been working on an agile remote base using an Icom 706. I have seen a lot of posts and read a lot of ideas on using this radio.I first attemped using this under the Beagle Bone but I didn't have any luck. SO I switched to an ACID install that was previously working as a Repeater Node.I first added the remote stuff back to the rpt.conf - and the symptom returned. The only working config has the line 'remote = ic706' commented out.Anyone have any ideas on why the USB interface won't start, or the node would die just because the remote statement was added?I could use some pointers?--Samuel T.
