Jim,
I'm using MDC-1200 for macro switching with almost 100% accuracy, depending on what radio I'm using. I haven't done anything with the status codes yet, but wonder if your left-hand side pattern isn't matching.

Once a macro is executed it doesn't "replay" unless you switch off of it, then back on.

Anyone using MDC-1200 on their node?   I just programmed up my HT1250 and gave it a radio ID of 8000, then setup the corresponding mdcmacro entries:

[mdcmacro]
I8000=*70
S*-2=*70
S*-1=*81

I key up to test, and it seems to work as expected on the first run:

Got MDC-1200 (single-length) packet on node 2142:
op: 01, arg: 00, UnitID: 8000
Got MDC-1200 data I8000 from local system (2142)
MDCMacro for I8000 doing *70 on node 2142

I then key up again and it seems to decode the packet, but doesn't touch the macro again:

I am also attempting to work on the MDC-1200 status stuff and set the entries above, the node sees the traffic, but doesn't actually do anything with it.  What am i missing?

Thanks!
